Important Upcoming Event Reminders:

We will be having our Halloween party tomorrow at lunch. There was enough money left from the float for me to buy the pizzas and all of the other goodies.  Some students have asked if they could bring other goodies because they just want to.  I am fine with it, but just know that you do not HAVE to send anything.  You will not need to send lunch with your child unless they do not eat pizza.

Tomorrow night is the parade at 6:00, the bonfire and glow in the dark pep rally at 7:00.  Please have your child here at the float by 5:45 dressed in black (like funeral attire).  The girls  have veils and flowers that have been made for them.
If you were interested in the BBQ plates, reminder that pre-orders have to be in by today.
There is a $1 charge for the glow in the dark pep rally.  If a child is under school age, they will be admitted free.  The theme is Halloween, so some of what you see during the performance may be scary looking to some young children.  Young children may want to be accompanied by an adult.

Friday is spirit day at Hardee's.  They will donate 20% of all pre-tax orders made between 4am and 11pm to PLAS.  I am sending home info and coupons with the students today.  You can give them out to your friends who might like to help us out.

The pep rally will be Friday morning at 11:15 on the football field.  Chances are still available for 25 cents each to kiss a cheerleader or football player.

School will be dismissed this Friday at 12:00.

Next Friday (11/7), we will have a Veteran's Day program and the 5th and 6th graders will be participating.  Your child can check out after the program, and will not be counted absent.

School will be dismissed at 1:30 on 11/7 so that students and faculty may travel to Bessemer for the playoff game.  Tickets will go on sale at the school tomorrow.  They are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

Field trip and float

Since our float theme is "bury the falcons", we are asking students to dress in all black as if they were going to a funeral.  Mandie Baker is having veils made for all of the girls to wear.

Don't forget that tomorrow is the Forest in the Classroom field trip.  We will leave around 8:15.  Students are supposed to bring a sack lunch and their own drink.
